Roof Access Improvements For Sussex Hospital

ECEX has installed a stepover bridge at St Richard’s Hospital, Chichester; one of a raft of access safety improvements completed by ECEX for Western Sussex Hospital’s NHS Foundation.

The stepover bridge has created a walkway over ductwork which was obstructing the access route, enabling maintenance personnel to move continuously around the roof in safety.

Following the initial enquiry from the hospital’s Estates Department, an ECEX surveyor visited site and identified a number of locations where steps, access ladders, bridge gantries and improved edge protection were required to upgrade access safety.

All items were fabricated in ECEX’s workshops and delivered to site in “kit” form for final assembly in-situ by the experienced site installation team.
